What is a Giclée?
Recent advances in imaging technology have made reproduction of artwork possible at unprecedented levels of quality and permanence. A giclée is an extremely high resolution print made by digitally capturing an image of the original art with a large format camera equipped with with a digital scanning back. The image file is adjusted in Photoshop for optimum aesthetic appeal. It is then printed with pigment based inks with a large format inkjet printer onto archival fine art paper or canvas.
All images on the watercolor and oil paintings pages of this web site are available as giclées. Images reproduced from oil paintings are available on paper or canvas. Giclées from watercolor paintings are available on paper only.
Images are available in different sizes in open and limited editions. All Neumann giclée prints are produced to the utmost museum quality standards. They are printed with archival pigment-based inks on Arches Infinity® 355 gsm 100% cotton paper or Epson Ultrasmooth Fine Art paper or on Magiclée™artist's canvas. Under proper display conditions Neumann giclée prints can be expected to last over 100 years before any noticeable change in color balance or fading occurs.
