John Baeder.com John Baeder is the absolute boss of diner paintings. An important American artist and one of my major artistic heros and influences, Mr. Baeder has focused exclusively on diners to express his soulful vision of roadside America. There are other artists who paint diners but none who can come close to the depth and beauty of John Baeder's work. Visit his web site and you'll see what I mean.

You can order his iconic poster "Neon Motels of the Southwest" featuring great neon signs artfully arranged in a handsome design, read some of Doug's many articles about roadside America and enjoy a wealth of cool images on this fine web site.

Here you can find a fascinating collection of roadside and outsider art images and Swislow's highly engaging and opinionated writings on a wide variety of topics from art, to book reviews to essays on subjects like: "incompetence as a strategy." The roadside links section is really excellent.

Founder, Henry Wilhelm has pioneered the field and is the worlds leading authority on the subject. All of the materials used to print Neumann giclée prints have been independently tested and rated for outstanding image permanence by Wilhelm Research.
Roadsidepeek.com This site is a wonderful virtual road trip down Americas two-lanes in words and pictures. It offers news of roadside happenings, preservation efforts and tons of information for devotees of roadside American culture, including an extensive links page.
Debra Jane Seltzer has a passion for commercial architecture and related roadside things. She has put together an extensive collection of photos and information on all kinds of great stuff including diners, gas stations, giant things and drive-in theatres to name just a few. She has especially good coverage of subjects from the Northeastern part of the US.
www.roadsidefans.com Glenn Wells, founder of the Roadside Fans Group, hosts this authoritative and well designed site, which is full of great diner and roadside information. The diner FAQ section will help you understand lots of the inside scoop on diners and their provenance.
